White supremacists, the Missoulian, and racial profiling
I’ve been dreading the arrival of white supremacist(s). They generally hang out over at Eric Coobs’ “What’s Right in Montana,” probably because that’s where they feel comfortable, and because Coobs doesn’t moderate. He just lets ‘em go.
Late last night and over the weekend, I had a couple (one?) post on my thoughts on racial profiling. They like racial profiling. They love racial profiling. Commenter “Martin L“:
The solution is to get rid of all airport security and establish raghead-only flights. The entire crew and passengers would be all ragheads….Each raghead-only aircraft would be divided in half, so the men could sit in front and the women could sit in back. Additionally, each raghead-only aircraft would be wired with high explosives that could be remotely detonated by any air traffic control facility if the flight wandered off course, just in case the ragheads decided to hijack their own aircraft and fly it into some building.Of course, the airlines would have to charge the ragheads a little more for a ticket to make up for the lost profits from in-flight movies and liquor sales, but that would not be discriminatory.
Under this proposal, no security would be necessary for anybody—no baggage checks, no metal detectors, no profiling—nothing. America could save a fortune, and everybody would be much happier flying with people who looked and smelled right and spoke some intelligible language.
Sometimes the Internet can be refreshing, because it allows people to post anonymously and speak their true feelings. This opinion shows why people support racial profiling: racism. It’s that simple. The Missoulian can make claims about ethnicity and religion and where terrorists live – forgetting, for example, white supremacist terrorists – but the bottom line is that their call for racial profiling is based on hate and fear. And racism.
If I were a subscriber to this piece of trash, I’d cancel. In fact, maybe we should start a subscription cancellation drive. What do you think?
By the way, from now on whenever I get a comment like Martin L’s, I’m going to delete it. I encourage the use of my blog as a forum of ideas, but there are some things I won’t display on my blog, and white supremacist rhetoric is one.
I’m glad to see that neo-Nazis disagree with me. Too bad the Missoulian can’t say the same.

touchstone, I can tell you from too much experience that there is a huge difference between the children who get their jollies by spouting rudely racist hyperboly and those who are truly supportive of the racist agenda. The former are figuratively just unzipping their pants in public and waving the goods (diminuative as they are) around to get a shock reaction. The latter actually toe a recognizable line, something appearing to be reason though failing to actually achieve that goal.
They both do damage, but it’s easier to point and laugh at the first, because they’re only in it for the shock value. I think that’s what your “Martin L.” is, a dick waver. (Mail me the IP of the perp, if you have it. That comment has Mellon-stink to it.) I think we’re correct in labeling both such as spouting racist speech, but we dilute the seriousness of the topic when we call both such subjects “racists”. (Unless we’re doing it to let those who’ve just gone a little too far know that they’ve sided with the enemy, and then it should be accompanied by much finger pointing and laughter.) And that is the very point of what Frank just attempted, to cast the suspicion away from the fun and games of the children onto “liberals”.

Racist, lets see. Affirmative Action: Giving special treatment in pay, raises, school admission, business loans because of a persons race. Not to be confused with a bigot. OR, not hiring a white person on reservation due to skin color, and aren’t reservations illegal according to the articles of the constitution. Or not allowing a white person in a black caucus, but banning whites from forming their own caucus. What touchstone needs to do is focus on racism in every form. White supremeism is horrible and MUST be stopped, but so should racism TOWARDS whites. TWO WRONGS DO NOT MAKE A RIGHT

You’ve touched on interesting issues, Frank, tho’ in a less than diplomatic way. I’d argue there’s a difference between ensuring, say, a law class has a mix of students based on not just extracurricular activites but on economic and cultural backgrounds, and taking a plane full of people of Arab descent and blowing it up.
But that’s just me.

And you don’t understand reservations at all. They are (supposedly) preserved ground for indiginous and sovereign people. Look up the word “sovereign” if it’s got too many syllables for you.

And that’s what really pisses me off, here. Why must touchstone do any such thing? Is it a law? Are bloggers held to a written standard such that Frankie is satisfied? No. Must every person who calls out A wrong be encumbered by the burden of calling out all wrongs? NO, little Frankie, no. Reality doesn’t work that way, except for petulant little dipsporks who claim privelage of equality while denying that others lack that very thing.
Ya’ see, Frankie, you feel entitled to “fairness”; so much so that your testes shrivel in fear when any other calls for a leveling of the field such that you might lose advantage. What you call “racism TOWARDS whites” I see as historical backlash for undue privelage. If the color of one’s skin doesn’t matter, and yet history should be remembered, as you racialist boys invariably argue, then most blacks and Natives are already starting well behind the gate for us white folk. As the commercials say, they’re not seeking a handout, just a hand. You’re not willing to extend that because you’re afraid of competition in a fair game. Too bad, so sad … for you.
You’re absolutely right that White supremiscists must be stopped. But every time you pretend that you begin on equal ground with those who have been subjugated to white will, you endorse the white sepremicist agenda. You’re only afraid of the darker folk because they might challenge your supremacy. That’s not an interest in fairness, it’s an interest in preserving your right to a head start in the game.
And kindly notice, please, that you have yet to support your BS concerning liberals and how we only cry racism when losing to you pathetically fearful white pride jerkoffs. I’m waiting, with fangs bared, for that argument … smartguy.

Wulfgar, READ the constitution, I realize liberals HATE the law. I know if a judge doesn’t make it, you shouldn’t follow it. The consitution clearly states that another nation can not be within its own borders. A…“sovereign” nation, what do you know. I didn’t think I would have to spell it out, even for a half brained Dem such as yourself. But, Reservations, a clear violation of such law. Read something true for a change. I realize if Michael Moore hasn’t done a movie on it, your 3rd grade education will not further. Pick up a book you racist retard. You anti-American, anti-troop, anti-male, anti-living agenda is getting old. I’m tired of your same old sayings.
