That is not a reality that should exist in the long self-professed greatest country in the world.

Perhaps that is the problem. Someone forgot to change their tune after the Dept of HEW was created in the early ’50’s and we now rank way low in Education and Health Care – but at least we are number 1 in something – amount of debt owed. Also number of countries where we have a military presence – like about 135 or so out of 190+. Yea US!
