Mountain Water Files for PSC Approval

(jhwygirl – I’m moving this post back on top as the issue is extremely important to City of Missoula residents. We b’birders went on a roll last night and today it seems, and I don’t want this one to pass by without proper viewing)
There are not a lot of details yet, other than that Mountain/Park Water has finally ponied up and decided, reluctantly, to ask the Montana Public Service Commission to let them sell themselves to the Carlyle Group.
The material was filed at the end of day on Monday, and at close of business today (Tuesday) the PSC had yet to have an electronic version posted.
Once a copy is made available, I will try to get the full details up as soon as possible. What i do know, is that Mountain Water has asked for an expedited hearing, and for the PSC to issue a ruling that they do not have jurisdiction (leave it up to CA, to protect Montanans).

by telling mountain water to do this, carlyle group is covering their bases i see. sure hope the commission covers ours.

I’m pretty sure the Missoulian did at least one story that was pretty big.
I did, though, first find out about this first from Ross..and I’m not saying that to disparage the Missoulian.

someone (possibly Keila) who is manning the twitter site of @missoulian is currently doing a great job of live tweeting the PSC hearings going on right now. follow this if you are at all interested in the future of your drinking water and/or wallet regarding water bills.
the spokesmen for the carlyle group are being very coy with their answers as to whether they really mean it when they say they are willing to deal in good faith regarding allowing missoula city the opportunity to buy our own water company. very enlightening and informative to see their vague answers.
