“This Thuggery has got to Stop”!!!

By JC

Oh my, what has Pat Williams gone and done now… besides upsetting the Montana Board of Regents with another gaffe?

“The university has recruited thugs for its football team, and this thuggery has got to stop.”

Well, I guess after the football player thugs all get thrown in jail, the city might be a better place, though I doubt all the thuggery will stop. Still seems to be a lot of institutionalized beatings, and looking the other way going on.

jesus, another problem to manage for Montana Democrats. here’s a suggestion: just say no to Pat Williams on the Board of Regents.

    that would be a start.

and I’d say you’re being generous, JC, not to emphasize what Williams said at the end of the Missoulian article (2nd link).

He said he was not referring to ex-quarterback Jordan Johnson, whose rape trial began Friday morning.

    who does that leave, Pat?

    • Williams was right in the thick of it along with at-the-time soon-to-be-but-yet-unhired-Commissioner-of-Higher-Ed Clayton Christianson (President of Stuart Title here in Missoula.) Big name alumni boosters trying to do damage control.

Then all of a sudden they’re at the helm deciding on how to deal with the issue?

How many times have the both of them sat in George Dennison’s box at Griz Stadium?

Pat was picked for that job for a reason. He and Carol had said for years that they were both done and wanting to retire to enjoy a less political life. On the same day Brian picked Pat for a 6 year term, Jeff Krauss was picked to a two year term. Krauss is just a tad over half of Pat’s age – you tell me who, logically, should have had the longer term.

  2. Any recent news about David Aronofshy (former UM legal council) and Jim Foley (former Williams Chief fo Staff, former UM VP, and director of Univ. licensing and fed. relations and research funding)? Are both still paid the “big bucks” at UM?

[...] For those who would like to forgive this quote as a media misstep, I’d suggest also considering the outburst “This thuggery has got to stop”!!!. [...]
