I am a twenty-something graduate student and a non-native Montanan. Though that may place me on the outside of the small town political gate, I think that it actually gives me perspective as I am from a state that has been already been and continues to be pillaged for its natural and cultural resources to a degree the likes of which Montana is yet to see. From this you may think that I am a pure tree-hugger, but nothing could be further from the truth. I have spent many nights wrestling with both sides politically, economically, and socially which has often left me incredibly cynical. My philosophy involves trying to move past the adversarial two-party system into an era of honest and thoughtful discourse.
