Mood Defends “O Shit” Website

by jhwygirl

Remember this post? Well, it peaked Missoulian reporter Keila Szpaller’s interest, and she’s got this interview with failed incumbent PSC candidate Doug Mood up at Missoula Red Tape.

Lost on me, but apparently the “O” in “O shit” – which is “O crap” in some other applications – stands for Obama.

Mood’s obviously proud of it too – I’da put money down on him having removed the stuff by now. And I’da lost.

Don’t let the door hit ya where the sun don’t shine, Doug.

Piqued my interest too. Having just read “New and even lefter West’s” post about the allegedly racist and undeniably stupid Idaho commissioner’s email, this seemed to be very similar. It’s not a Democratic Governor Somebodysboybitch move, certainly, but it’s needlessly offensive.

  2. By and large, goof, my posts are more locally oriented. Left in the West did post about Blagojevich though. I think the day it broke.

Blagojevich? Jackass doesn’t begin to describe him.

  3. Still thinks Mood is just a GOP tool. (Sorry Doug, but that’s what you’ve been doing.)

Doug is a nice guy in person, but served in pawn fashion to that guy who has a really nice office inside a bank on E. Broadway. (Again, sorry Doug, but that’s what you were doing.)

Doug, alot of poor people really suffered as a result of GOP policies manifesting on the PSC.

Dereg caused alot of suffering for real humans Doug.

Real humans Doug, not just the kind who are CEO’s with houses on Finley Point.

John McCain showed real class in his concession speech. Then there’s Doug Mood …

Mood, the incumbent, lost because his PSC record sucked (he voted against Missoula’s Green Taxi, for example), he was pro-deregulation when he was in the Montana House, and he favored the extractive industries over conservation and alternative energy.

Here’s what he said to Missoulian Reporter Keila Szpaller:

“You probably have never run for office before. When you lose an election like that, you don’t feel very statesmanlike.”

Not very statesmanlike? That’s an understatement. And I don’t recall the losing Democrats in Montana House races – guys like Willis Curdy and Paul Clark – whining about their defeats.

It should also be noted that Gail Gutsche out-worked him in this campaign, and had a more aggressive and progressive platform. Mood has no one to blame but himself.

  5. Coke or Pepsi.

Both republican and democrat; a pecking order of cowards, Liars, killers, snakes and thieves. And you will know your place in the order of things.

Caught between a dangerous mafia and a indifferent elite cabal, you will know it soon, if not already, then perhaps you will see what has been done.*

But, who am I, just some clown who posts on boards such as this. But perhaps, you’ll listen to someone that’s some body…

Greenwald: Pelosi and other Criminal Accomplices

Greenwald: “One of things that often gets overlooked because these programs (Guantanamo, extraordinary rendition, etc.) are typically blamed on the Bush Administration – and rightfully so since they are the ones who conceived of it and first implemented – it is the extent of the complicity on the part of leading congressional democrats…”

    Maddow: “Bingo”

Greenwald: “in most of these programs.”

Greenwald: “Not only were they briefed on it, people like Nancy Pelosi, Jane Harmon and Jay Rockefeller were briefed that we were torturing, that we were eavesdropping illegally. In many cases they did nothing about it. Often they assented actively to these programs.”

Greenwald: “You also have a whole series of laws that have been passed with the aid of the democrats and even with the democrats in control of congress to authorize things like the military commissions and to immunize the people in our government who have broken the law and violated international treaties.”

Greenwald: “And so the fact that the leading house Democrat on the intelligence committee (Sylvester Reyes) is urging that the CIA Director and the Director of National Intelligence, the people who have overseen these programs that have done such damage to our country, urging that they be retained and that some of these programs be maintained by Obama is not surprising. Many of these Democrats have given full-throated support to a lot of these programs even as they try to keep the blame on the Bush Administration.”

Maybe now you can see, the dems are the problem. Consider, ‘The ratchet effect’.

The American political system, since at least 1968, has been operating like a ratchet, and both parties — Republicans and Democrats — play crucial, mutually reinforcing roles in its operation.

The electoral ratchet permits movement only in the rightward direction. The Republican role is fairly clear; the Republicans apply the torque that rotates the thing rightward.

The Democrats’ role is a little less obvious. The Democrats are the pawl. They don’t resist the rightward movement — they let it happen — but whenever the rightward force slackens momentarily, for whatever reason, the Democrats click into place and keep the machine from rotating back to the left.

Here’s how it works. In every election year, the Democrats come and tell us that the country has moved to the right, and so the Democratic Party has to move right too in the name of realism and electability. Gotta keep these right-wing madmen out of the White House, no matter what it takes.

(Actually, they don’t say they’re going to move to the right; they say they’re going to move to the center. But of course it amounts to the same thing, if you’re supposed to be left of center. It’s the same direction of movement.)

So now the Democrats have moved to the “center.” But of course this has the effect of shifting the “center” farther to the right.

The “Ratchet Effect” is the operative metaphor here and the reason we all get suckered every election. The is the most effective description I’ve heard in a decade to describe the evolving situation. Or you know, you can continue to hope.

Lobbying the U.S. Congress has a 1,557.14% return on investment. That means for every dollar you bribe a congresscritter with, you can expect back $15.57 in increased business!

No other investment in the US has that rate of return!

From Mr. Mood’s website at The text is reprinted below.

Don’t give an interview to Keila Szpaller of the Missoulian!! She apparently is willing to misrepresent her conversations so that the hypervernilating-left crowd can cluck and moan about decorum.

    (Imagine that!)

Yesterday, (Thursday, December 11th) I returned a call to Ms Szpaller and we talked about the little black logo that you (might) see below. She chortled and giggled her way through a conversation about the appropriateness of the of the word “shit!” as it is used below. I told her that I thought the sentiment expressed was was an accurate reflection of how I felt about the way the election had gone, for me in particular and for the republicans in Montana in general. She asked me, “Do you think it is appropriate for a PSC web site?” and I pointed out to her that it isn’t on a PSC web site it is on my personal web site.

She did ask me about decorum but she chose not to relay any exchange about context.

(In some crowds, her account would be known as bullshit, and rightly so.)

    Again, Warning!

If the word “shit” is likely to cause your silly little left-wing heart to palpitate with fits of apoplexy, don’t continue any further!!!!
