Blogged about here.

Tomorrow’s senate floor vote includes a 2nd reading for SB253 which would allow employers to claim a tip credit against the employees tips for any amount above a base rate of $6.90 per hour.

This bill must pass 2 readings to continue moving forward. Tomorrow is the first of those 2 readings.

Currently, Montana’s minimum wage is tied to an annual cost-of-living increase.

Here is a full list of Montana Senators.

A group actively lobbying against this bill are targeting the following:
Taylor Brown, Huntley
John Brurggeman, Polson
Dave Lewis, Helena
Terry Murphy, Cardwell
Ryan Zinke, Whitefish

You can also send any senator an email using the online message form.

Know this, people: Because of previous phone calls and emails, SB254 was tabled (and effectively killed) in committee.

Time’s a wastin’ – send that email, pick up the phone.

I have a friend who’s been saying that to me for months now. It all began when we started bailing out banks while all along they continued with big bonuses….shameless folk that they are.

It’s all in a separate account, don’t you know?

Seems to me that if you’re going to get a bonus, it should be for a job well-done.

Maybe I’m missing something here.

Last week, here comes Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri. She’s sure had enough, and who can blame her? McCaskill’s been a favorite no nonsense Senator of mine since another no nonsense Senator – that would be the flattop wearin’ Senator Jon Tester – got to Washington. The two of them, in fact, pal around when it comes to that legislative stuff.

There are some who say it takes a woman to get the job done. Watch some good old no nonsense speaking in action:

And a hat tip to my friend Mike Shay at Hummingbirdminds. I’ve had that Claire McCaskill article sitting in the box. His post prompted me to “get at it.”
