Tragically True

The Banality of Bush White House Evil.

  1. Anon

Once again, we seem to agree :-)

    • Between your progressive score, that conversation and this, you are offering evidence that progressives and conservatives can find some agreement, Anon.

I believe that is a good thing.

  2. Pogo Possum

Does that “Evil” reference extend to Democrats (Nancy Pelosi, Jane Harman, Bob Graham etc.) who sat on House and Senate oversite committees and sat through 30 private briefings that frequently described these interrogation techniques in detail over 7 years and did not raise objections?

    • Lizard

anyone fully briefed about the torture program who didn’t object allowed the evil that was HATCHED by the Bush administration to spread, and should be held accountable.

but are you, PP, really concerned about justice, or are you just trying to score some points against these hypocritical lefties?

  3. the cowardice displayed by all politicians who corroborated and were complicit with the charade that was the bush/cheney administration on so many levels; cowardice toward wall street, health insurance, predatory lenders, lying to promote a war, and torture are abhorrent and unfortunately a very common human trait.

what is not common however is the sheer bald-faced contempt that bush/cheney/rumsfeld/et al showed toward our country’s constitution and its citizens.

anyone who voted for bush should hold their heads in shame. history will condemn those eight years as our country’s most shameful and destructive….ever.

    • Pogo Possum

      “……..as our country’s most shameful and destructive…ever.”

A bit of an exageration PBear even if someone buys into 100% of your argument.

To borrow from a long list of “shameful and destructive” accusations against the US government by own various groups from many different political spectrums:

      More shameful than Vietnam?
More shameful than US led sanctions against Iraq in the 1990’s resulting in over 1,000,000 Iraqi children starving to death with another 4,000,000 of the population suffering from starvation?

More shameful than US involvement in clandestine wars in third world countries around the world in the 1950’s through 1970’s?

More shameful than the incarceration and humiliation of thousands of American citizens of Japanese ancestry during WWII?

More shameful than 300+ years of mistreatment and genocide of Native Americans and destruction of their culture?

More shameful than 250 years of slavery?

I could add to the list but I think you get the picture.

  4. Pogo Possum

If you want to avoid the hypocrisy charge PBear, you should also include in your list of people who should “hang their head in shame lecture” anyone who voted for Nancy Pelosi, Jane Harman, Bob Graham, and a long long list of Democrats who voted for the war and/or continued to vote for funding the war for the past 8 years.

  5. mr possum. i’ve read enough of your comments to not worry too much about what you judge concerning hypocrisy….

the relevance train is leaving the station and you are not on it…

    • Pogo Possum

Very sad PBear. Your throw out a bomb of an attack and then when someone questions you, you just walk away. That is not normally like you.

If you are going to make outragous and inflamatory statements then at least try to defend them.

Your refusal to defend your statement indicates you realize how foolish it was in the first place.

  6. Your opinion was duly noted and filed under bush/cheney apologist, pp.

I’m not in the habit of explaining myself.

    • Pogo Possum

      Thanks PBear.

I have filed your comments and non-response in my growing file entitled “PBear’s Silly Hysterical Rants”

I am adding 2 more GIGs of memory for future entries.

  7. pogo- it amuses me greatly that while you right wing extremists are busy running the white glove over the upper shelves of the obama presidency you fail to notice the sewer backing up in your own back yard. your lock-step fall in line or else ultra conservative agenda is under water and sinking fast…..

the average voter just doesn’t care about the silly issues you guys obsess about and they definitely don’t trust the party that panders to the rich anymore.

ps/ you will need more than 2 gigs to store my support for the changes that are going to take place over the next 8 years. i would go external hard drive if i were you pp.
