Why Do Missoula City Councilpersons Dick Haines, Lynne Hellegaard and Renee Mitchell Hate Missoula’s Economy?

by jhwygirl

Since when did Renee Mitchell ever give a ^#&* whether a developer was going to be able to “stay afloat”?

Good lord, the false trolling that woman will go through trying to scare up a big green ugly monster on something like a $5,000,000 grant to a developer who is going to rehab blight (increase tax revenues for the city) and provide essential housing for working class folk here in Missoula.

The Missoulian’s Keila Szpaller has the rundown on the grant, which passed after as much wrenching around as most of council could muster…the vote coming down 7-3 on the side of bringing $5,000,000 influx of economic development into Missoula.

I’m sure Jon Wilkins is so proud he’s aligned himself with these bitter petty individuals.

Maybe some on the council are not comfortable with the level of due diligence performed on the deal or the inflated price they may have paid for a foreclosed property.
For instance, I have been harping for some time about a 1 million dollar “stimulus” loan that Neville Log Homes received from the state in concert with the MAEDC. Yesterday I saw a lady that I assume is one of the owners of Neville driving down Reserve in a nice shiny white gas hogging Cadillac Escalade with “Neville One” plates on it. I would think that Neville would have the common sense , if not the economic sense to have sold that $50,000 plus rig long before coming to the taxpayer for ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
On the other hand , if you like using your money to make this Neville Republican Welfare mom’s Escalade payments ( even if it is not directly paid by bailout funds) then by all means don’t do the due diligence on these deals.

Neville filed for bankruptcy, this time in Montana.
Someone needs to conduct an investigation on how they received stimulus money and whether personal assets can be attached because I suspect that an application was prepared that was not 100 percent accurate and that the state did a poor job of due diligence.
The Director of the State Commerce Department should have been aware of this.
