Where Did You Go?

A staple of the local blogging geography has been taken offline.  For who how don’t know, Missoulapolis was taken down this week by long time blogger Carol.  Carol wrote a short note before taking the site down that was somewhat cryptic, talking of the need to rest from the blogging world, refreshing the site, and getting away from the online debates for sometime.

Hopefully Carol comes back to us sooner or later.  I didn’t agree with everything written on the site but enjoyed much of the content Carol took the time to post.

Comeback to the blogosphere refreshed Carol.

  1. Call me the suspicious sort, but I think there’s something more going on here. Most bloggers who quit, just quit. They sometimes leave a ‘Good Bye Cruel World’ message, but rarely do they nuke the site from orbit, (it’s the only to be sure.) It’s possible that her hosting was due, and she just timed things on that schedule. Most bloggers announce such events before hand, though.

    • She made an announcement.

What I find interesting is the timing. Two days after Pete calls her and her commentators out for lack of judgment (at best) or racism and bigotry (at worse), she pulls it with a post referring to her inability to get email updates…and refers to the post that Pete linked to in his post.

      That’s now the cached versions.

Google must of had time to grab the Hiawatha piece (it’s the comments there that degenerate) – because when Missoulapolis came down Thursday night, the cached version of that one only had the first 5 or so comments. Now it’s got most of them (at least). I can’t remember how many it got to, but I was pretty sure it had hit 25.

She may be thinking of another run at HD97. I’m sure she’s still got a basement of signs, and last time around she took a hiatus (though unannounced) around that time as I seem to remember.

  2. Jose Soplar

She even allowed rebellious lefties to post. And she was a gracious, witty, intelligent host. I hope she comes back. That was pretty much the one conservative site I would read.

  3. Pogo Possum

FYI……Missoulapolis is back up and running.

    Welcome back Carol.
