I wrote the other day about Dr. Tom Preston, who will be speaking in Missoula on Tuesday regarding dying and death with dignity issues. In that post, I spoke briefly about the issue of physician-assisted death with dignity, and how our legislators on both sides of the aisle need to come together with solutions on this constitutional right guaranteed to all Montanans.

We can not write a law making this illegal, regardless of what Rep. Greg Hinkle, of Thompson Falls thinks.

In fact, Rep. Hinkle is apparently no fan of Montana’s constitution…which is really pretty messed up, him being a legislator charged with helping write and review proposed laws. And vote on ’em.

Roberta King speaks of her father, Robert Baxter – a 76-year old truck driver from Billings who suffered from lympocytic leukemia and died while waiting for the courts to decide whether he had a choice in his own dignified death:
