great post about unbridled greed

by problembear

this is one of the best posts i have seen on the top 5% of our wealthiest citizens fighting to renew their bush tax cuts in spite of the fact that they are actually prospering in this recession while the rest of us are losing ground.

  1. Banned in Beantown

Something interesting … the wealthy and their hired hands claim that lower taxes encourages investment, and even as it doesn’t happen say we just have to wait some more.

When the top rate was 70%, or 91%, as in the 1950’s, wealthy people were faced with either paying it over to the tax man, or sinking it into plant and equipment. Imagine them thinking … if I go bust on this venture, the government takes a 91% hit!

That’s the big lie about our tax structure. We have it all backwards. High tax rates encourage investment.

And you know what? It’s pretty damned obvious too, until right wing think tanks get hold of it.

  2. Ingemar Johansson

Is the wealthy really the enemy?

I think the real enemy is starring back at you in the mirror.

At least that’s what Reed from CA thinks.

  3. i think that bucket might be a little tight on your face there swede…. might be blocking your vision a little.

by expanding the discussion beyond anything stated here you somehow managed to find some obscure talking point video that rambles far and wide and this proves some point you want to make about why the billionaires in this country who are currently enjoying prosperity while the rest of america suffers should be granted a further extension on the bush tax cuts?

i believe you are attempting by some sort of attention deficit disorder way to justify the further extension of tax cuts for the 1% but my question is why should the rest of the 99% of americans currently hurting in this recession give one rat’s ass about making things even cushier for them?

more importantly why should you? is it fealty to someone you work for?

i can give you someone not so obscure to talk exactly about what this post is about…. somebody who doesn’t have a slop bucket stuck to his snout,,,,
