May Denny Rehberg catch a case of the clap

by Pete Talbot

Of course, with his excellent taxpayer paid health care, he’d get state-of-the-art treatment.  If, however, he was a lower or middle-class man or woman seeking affordable treatment in Montana, his options would be limited.  Whether it was an STD or some other reproductive health issue, or just some condoms, considering the bill he and his congressional cohorts passed, he can forget about Planned Parenthood.

It’s called the Pence Amendment, named after a very nasty little Republican representative from Indiana named Mike Pence.  It’s an attack on Title X family planning and specifically Planned Parenthood. The vote was 240-185, pretty much along party lines.

Here’s a synopsis from Montana Planned Parenthood’s CEO, Stacy James:

In attacking Planned Parenthood, the House Republican leadership including Representative Rehberg, has launched an outrageous assault on the thousands of Montanans who rely on our local clinics for primary and preventive health care, including lifesaving breast and cervical cancer screenings, annual exams, family planning visits, birth control, HIV testing, and more.

I suppose that the representatives voting for this bill thought they were targeting abortion providers.  But by restricting access to sex education and birth control, they’re actually increasing the chance that an abortion will be needed.

And Rehberg is leading the pack in this assault on Montana families, particularly woman who don’t have high-end health care plans like Denny.  More STDs and abortions, fewer cancer screenings, less access to birth control, the end of sex education for teens; thanks Denny.

Also – I see that Roll Call Votes Inc makes note in the chart in today’s paper (How Your Lawmakers Voted) that abortion services weren’t federally funded in the first place at Planned Parenthood !
I agree, Pete, defunding family planning cannot possibly have any other result other than more abortions, more unwanted pregnancies, less access to health care for many people, low-income people.

  2. at the rate the GOP is attacking women in this country it might be a good idea for them to rescind the right for women to vote.

2012 is gonna be a blood-bath for these misogynistic, religious fanatics masquerading as representatives of the people…. (male only- of course)

it’s the code of the west after all. just read judy blunt’s book Breaking Clean to fully understand this mindset.

the GOP has become the American Taliban.

  4. Planned Parenthood needs to be defunded, and shut down.

I saw two of the videos, where the cameraman went undercover, told them they had 14 year old prostitutes, and wanted to know how to get them abortions, and they (Planned Parenthood) was eager to help them.

    Not with my tax dollars.

Let the Dems (The Party of the Rich) fund them if they want.

    Let Hollywood fund them.

    • you are mistaking your fantasy dreams for videos again Eric time to lower the narcotic value of your sleep meds again.

HOw about links if you are going to throw out accusation like that, Coobs? If you are going to post tripe like this either back it up, or we’ll pull it down.

I could just as easily say I have videos of you having sex with a 14 year-old, too, but I’m not going to.

Sounds like more of the same kind of Shenanigans used by that crook James O’Keefe in his ACORN hooker video.

That’s exactly what it was, JC. Only Eric fails to mention that the scam was exposed because Planned Parenthood employees called the federal authorities to report the alleged child sex trafficking.

  5. Only one of them Rob –

You are correct, Eric. Only one of the fraudulent portrayals of child sex trafficking actually garnered video that supports your bullshit position. Did you actually bother to read the link before you posted it here? I doubt it. Meanwhile, PP turned in your bullshit artists with video cameras. PP has done more to stop child sex trade than you’ve ever even dreamed of doing. Who knows, maybe you favor child sexual slavery. Would it be irresponsible to ask? According to Peggy Noonan, it would be irresponsible not to. So, Eric, do you favor child sex slavery, or do you favor Planned Parenthood for standing against it?
