What a Bunch of Shills
By CFS
And the Fuax News Achievement Award goes to… The Missoulian.
I’m not sure if its possible for the Missoulian to have their collective heads farther up the ass of new Bresnan owner Cablevision. I know the Missoulian is a loca paper, and as such carries some pretty worthless ‘news’ items from time to time, but did they just reprint a press release or something with this ‘informative’ story … er… advertisement? As always Missoulian, stay classy.
If you don’t already know, Bresnan Communications was bought out by Cablevision back in December and is now calling itself Optimum West (because its going to optimize its profits yo!). So… an already annoying local monopoly with horrible customer service is now a local monopoly owned by a national corporation with monopolistic aspirations and most likely even worse customer service.
Optimum’s services are advertised as cheaper and more advanced than Bresnan’s.
Yeah, the introductory rate may be, but in cruising the whole of the Optimum site, the one .pdf that did not load properly was the document showing their regular prices after the promotional period ends.
Anyway, I never liked Bresnan service much, its customer service was horrible and its service expensive, but it was kinda the only game in town. You can’t really shame a company into acting in a more socially responsible manner or treating their customers in a more respectful manner (they have no conscience after all) so this is just me complaining.
It would seem that customer service is already worse under the new owners. In the last few months I have gotten at least one call per week badgering me to upgrade my current service, you see I didn’t have the optimum package for streamlining profit potential. Needless to say i finally freaked out on a poor telemarketer that probably didn’t even work for Cablevision, but he seemed to understand my frustration. Customer service shouldn’t be mainly about selling your customer more crap they don’t want.
Yeah for faux news.

[…] Seems that criticizing policy that seeks to release lands protected by the late Senator Lee Metcalf’s Montana Wilderness Study Act and other roadless and protected areas, in exchange for the official “designation” of a few hundred thousand acres of said protected land garners folks the “ilk” moniker from Dems. Did Fleischman really shut down a thread because he doesn’t like Natelson? What a petty jackass!

NO Mark, pb didn’t. Your comments were caught by Akismet, and have been de-spammed.

Mark, what is this event you speak of?

The Missoulian is a local paper just like Coca Cola is a local soft drink. Lee Enterprises (based in Davenport, Iowa) owns the Missouian and has for years.

Earlier attempts to post there went into the ether, while comments here posted. From that, and given the stupidity of pb’s comment down there, I assumed that he had shut down the thread. He’s like that.
It now appears to be an open thread again, meaning that either my comments amazingly appeared everywhere but there, or that he opened it up again.

See now, I tried posting this below, and it will not take:

“Yeah for Faux News”
You must mean this.

Yeah for confirmation bias.

for the record i do not tamper with anyone else’s posts here. this has been stated repeatedly. i decide what to do with commenters on my posts and other authors decide what to do with commenters on their posts.
my remark “it’s a gift.” refers sarcastically and with wry self-deprecation to my “talent” to shut down threads by hammering someone so hard that they don’t respond. this has happened often with mr natelson. usually some right wing admirer of mr natelson comes to his rescue but i didn’t expect that he would answer me and he didn’t. i know it’s not nice but then for the most part i am rarely if ever consciously “nice.”
sometimes i am just spoiling for a fight.
mark-you really need to find better uses for your time than obsessing about me. it is laughable however.

I know that I’m inviting trouble, but …
Any website that uses Askimet can submit a user or profile as ‘spam’. Sometimes, profiles that insist on linking to a website that has been submitted as spam will get those profiles caught in the filter.
Mark continues to troll this website. He will not cease. He has successfully gotten Lizard to respond to him in a way that pleases trolls. He has gotten Lizard to announce that those who share and post emails are “underhanded little shits” (that would be JC, Matthew Koehler and others of like ilk.) Mark has gotten posters here to pronounce their morality by allowing him to do exactly what he wants them to do. He’s trolling you, folks. That’s the long and short of it.

huh?

Ah…yeah, huh?

looks like big D dems are trying to revive the infighting, but i don’t think ridiculing past supporters and their legitimate grievances is a very intelligent strategy.
although i could be wrong. maybe that hippie jab by the cowgirl is good montana politics.
May 27, 2011 at 12:53 pm
That was at his site, Lizard, when he trolled you and you bit, hook line and sinker. You used the phrase “underhanded little shits” (that is a quote) for those who share emails and post them online, such as JC, MK and MT.
Remembering what you’ve written might be helpful in the future. Koehler might take that advice as well (or would you gentlemen like me to link to your various commenting?)
May 27, 2011 at 1:43 pm
uh, Rob, i remember just fine. that phrase i used was directed at you, because i think you are an underhanded little shit who thinks the ends justify the means when it comes to getting IN! YOUR! FACE! against your declared enemies.
why are you and moo-girl picking fights anyway? you should be having fun watching the GOP scramble to explain the Paul Ryan suicide pact they’ve all tied around their throats. these are great times to be a Democrat.
and it’s nice to see you posting something at LitW again after almost a whole month of nada.

For the record, I have blocked probably a dozen or more IP addresses in an effort to get rid of Mark. He is completely aware of this…and he also uses multiple IP addresses to get around this.
He does have favorites, though – and that is when he is usually out there accusing someone of blocking him. Hell – that is nothing new and he knows it. One example is that Mark knows he can’t use “tokarski”. Ever once in a while he forgets and posts with that name and it gets caught in spam and he immediately reposts under another fake name.
Mark knows this He doesn’t give a fuck. he will bully himself into a conversation or into a blog. He doesn’t care. He’s rude as hell – and his bully behavior he has taken repeatedly shows this.
Thing is – he continues to bully his way in and then loves to brag in blog posts that he has been banned. Like hell. He’s here. I’ve given up. I consider him an extremely rude guest, and if I had stronger policing powers, he’d be gone.
I’ve done other research amongst the many IP addresses Mark uses, so I am well aware of his games. There are a number of people guilty of games – he isn’t the only one…but he is by far the worse. There’s little sense to dealing with an entity like this by blogging the stuff out there or emailing him and trying to resolve it.
Litium might help, but unfortunately I’m not near Mark’s water supply.
Keep in mind I’ve been at blogging now here and elsewhere for 7 years now. I’ve observed this for quite a long time. I’ve yet to ever see anything productive from Tokarski – but it really isn’t that which makes me wish he would go away. It’s the disruptiveness that he seeks.
He’s not content to do that at his blog which, oddly, doesn’t get the traffic.
I wonder why?
Tokarski has admitted exactly that here and at his own ghost town…..so he comes here to get the attention he craves.
How…very…15-year old female high school.
None of this is new.
Now watch for Mark to go ahead and go all 15-year old high school on me.

sorry to assist in the derailing of this thread, CFS. you know how i love me a good critical look at how the Missoulian rolls, and this is a good one.
and if you don’t mind i’d like to indulge in linking to a sort of shill-related article, this one about how the White House is beefing up its online rapid response.
you hear that, AGGRESSIVE ENGAGEMENT! yeehaw!
