Do You Hear That?

Thats the sound of the Montana GOP asserting our state’s right to have a medical marijuana industry that is free from intrusions of the Federal Government.  Doesn’t the GOP platform state:

We demand federal withdrawal from those areas of responsibility reserved by the U.S. Constitution to the states and people.  We urge our state elected officials to undertake appropriate action, including legal action, to confine federal power within its constitutional limits.”

Tester should come out in support of Paul & Frank’s bill to let the states regulate it.

      I didnt say ‘just’ Tester.

    • That’s true, but you “just” mentioned him. Seems to me the point is better made to Denny given his (sometimes faux) position on federalism (read: tort reform.)

And while we’re at it., cc Max too even if his hypocrisy doesn’t emanate from a state’s rights doctrine only when it comports to an ideological match.

If we are talking in generalizations I would like all of our members of the House and Senate to support the bill or better yet to just go ahead and end the war on drugs as a federal policy.

I do not think there is a chance in hell that Rehberg will support this bill (although I could be wrong). Although I do not like everything about him, which has been endlessly discussed by others on this and other blogs, I do wish to see him re-elected and in my uninformed opinion supporting this bill would be both the right thing to do and a somewhat dynamic move on his part to appeal to iundependent voters and cross Denny up on his states right hypocrisy.

      • I would like to see no one re-elected. But I have to say, out of all 535 members of Congress, Denny is certainly one of them.

Lost in the election-year posturing are patients who can no longer choose their preferred medical remedy. Right now, the State of Montana, and federal prosecutors at the direction of Obama, Inc. handlers, are far more concerned about political “atmospherics” than the needs of sick and terminally-ill patients. That’s just how they roll.
