“How Do I Make the American People More Comfortable?” — Remediable Leadership 001

Never trust a man who don’t wash his own dishes.

it’s impressive he can stand up there and say shit like that. was this clip before the Washington Post reported on the THOUSANDS of NSA violations of the law?

articles of impeachment need to be introduced. Obama has gone far beyond anything Nixon and Clinton did.

It was before the latest NSA violation revelation. You’d think these would know that every time they open their mouths and lie, a new batch of information is going to be released that will show how big of liars they really are.

    • Articles of Impeachment? I’m certain your Congressman Steve Daines will happily draft them for you. Please solicit him to do so, After all, it’s the only way …

I’m just as concerned about private corporations gathering info on me. The Obama administration is somewhat accountable, and I think they need the heat turned up on them, but Google and companies they share info with aren’t accountable at all.

Impeachment is impossible. Talking about it might let some folks express their anger, but it’s going nowhere. It (talking about it) might offer some of the heat the administration needs to be forced to respond to. But I’m looking for congressional Democrats (Pelosi, Feinstein et al) to begin turning up more useful heat, and soon.

Pelosi said today that she finds the revelations about the NSA “extremely disturbing.” Feinstein said yesterday that the NSA needs closer scrutiny.

Other House and Senate members have expressed similar concerns.

I couldn’t make out what Pelosi is saying on the video clip. I wonder when she said it. I think she was repeating the administration’s line about a balance between national security and civil rights.

I doubt that, in the light of new revelations, Pelosi is now content with that pat explanation.

6/22/13 – Excerpted from Politico: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was booed by progressive activists Saturday for defending President Obama on the NSA’s surveillance programs and suggesting that alleged leaker Edward Snowden broke the law. Speaking in a wide-ranging Q&A session at this year’s Netroots Nation conference, Pelosi said it’s unfair to equate Obama and former President George W. Bush on the issue of surveillance.

“People on the far right are saying oh, this is the fourth term of President Bush,” the California Democrat said. “Absolutely, positively not so.”

As Pelosi was saying the country needs a “balance” between security and privacy, Marc Perkel, a 57-year-old activist from Gilroy, Calif., started shouting at Pelosi during her answer and was escorted out of the room.

“It’s not a balance. It’s not constitutional!” he yelled. “No secret laws!”

Others in the room began shouting as well, saying things like “Leave him alone!” or “That’s what a police state looks like right there!”

The moderator, Zerlina Maxwell, worked to quiet the crowd by saying audience members needed to submit questions via Twitter rather than shouting them out, but Pelosi said she didn’t mind.

“I welcome the challenges that people pose because I think that those questions must be answered,” Pelosi said.

She was further booed when she said Snowden did break the law by leaking the information he revealed.

“As far as Snowden: he did violate the law in terms of releasing those documents,” she said.

Some of the crowd erupted in boos, with one man screaming, “You suck!”

The NSA memo that was reported by the WaPo is dated May of 2012 of which a copy was given to Feinstein as head of the intelligence cmt. Thus, she’s either incompetent or a liar (probably both). Trust this government at your own risk. More here.

Oh, maybe your romance with the notion of a murderous bastard like Chi makes you believe in government. If so, you’re fucked already.

Chi? I know you’re trying to attack me and the gubmint. But you’re pretty incoherent.

  6. Dave Budge

I’m incoherent only if you don’t know me as well as the authors of this blog. But, yes, I’m attacking you on Chi and I will until the day one of us dies. If you romance him you either don’t know his history or you’re in love with brutal authoritarianism.
