General Electric makes a $5.1 billion profit in the U.S. and pays nothing in taxes.  It actually gets a $3.2 billion tax credit.

Is this the Republican tax policy?

Man, things are definitely askew.  Not enough money for education, the poor, kids and seniors.  Gosh, I wonder why.

    It’s hard to imagine a justification for this but I’m certainly waiting to hear it.

    They want to be treated like people? Let ’em pay their taxes like me.

    I mean – I contribute to the economy. I earn money and a I pretty much spend it right back into corporate hands.

    That’s what’s really happening, isn’t it? We work, we spend money on stuff and we pay taxes.

    Then the government gives the corporations who sell me their stuff what they don’t get from me when I buy it directly.

    It’s not just an accountant you need. It’s a legislator or member of congress that’s willing to write the tax code to your advantage.

    This is how Capitalism/Exploitation thrives. Now the Corp-capitalists make ALL the Rules; and De-regulate/ Wealth RE-distribution at will. With just enuff T-klaners and Oppressor Envyists (two celled thinkers) they have a monopoly on the Legislative process.
    Cowgirl is right on with her post.
    Capitalism Cannot Be Fixed. It can only be replaced.

      Why don’t you pony up on the vote on whatever bill the tax loophole for GE resides in, and then we can talk about who’s stroking whom, here.

          You make a somewhat legitimate comment, Ingy. There are Democrats that as a big a sluts as Republicans. Couple of points, though: 1) the Democrats received a lions share of GE donations because the Democrats controlled the House and Senate at that time (you link to a 2009 story) — I’ll bet it’s Republicans receiving most of GE’s dollars now, 2) The Washington Examiner is a rag.

            You got that right Pete. Just go to the OpenSecrets.org listing for GE PAC and flip through the years. They pretty much blow with the political breeze in D.C.

            Big INgy wants to pick on Rangel for his $2,000 dollar fee he got from GE. But the current House Ways and Means Chair, David Camp, received $10k from GE in the last cycle (and his PAC got $8k). I wonder when the investigations into his corruption will begin?

              $11m? Don’t know. We’ll just have to see what GE and it’s deep pockets start throwing at Camp’s district. Give it time. The scum will surface.

              And it is you who would try to make this about just a few corrupt dems, when it is indicative of the corruption that reigns in Congress, and a political system born out of tithes and offerings.
